WHAT IS NUTRITION?
Nutrition is the biochemical and physiological process by which an organism uses food to support its life. It provides organisms with nutrients, which can be metabolized to create energy and chemical structures. Failure to obtain sufficient nutrients causes mal-Nutrition. Nutrition is also the study of food and how it affects the health and growth of the human body. Nutrients are the elements found in foods that human bodies use to grow, reproduce, and survive. Moreover, proteins are important for growth and development of the body. They also help your body repair tissue, carry oxygen, digest foods, and regulate hormones in general.
It looks at the physiological and biochemical processes involved in nourishment and how substances in food provide energy or are converted into body tissues. These nutrients, which are the source of energy for our bodies, are classified as carbohydrates, fats, fiber, minerals, proteins, vitamins, and water. Good nutrition means obtaining the right amount of nutrients from healthy foods in the right combinations. An important part of the nutrition is looking at diseases that can result from malnutrition and the role that food plays in the development of chronic disease.
In contrary, poor nutrition can lead to a lack of energy, digestive problems, food allergies, weight gain, depression, and anxiety as well as many of today’s most prevalent chronic diseases like coronary heart disease, cancer. Having nutritional knowledge and making informed choices about the foods you eat can help you achieve optimum health over your lifetime.
WHAT IS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM?
The immune system consists of special organs, tissue types, proteins and cells that protect the body against infections caused by different viruses, bacteria, and parasites. The immune system will constantly be working to keep unwanted “invaders” away. Since the human body is ideal for several microbes, these constantly seek to enter the body.
The immune system’s main job is to protect the body from infection. It recognizes invaders such as bacteria and viruses, as well as abnormal cells. It mounts an immune response to help the body fight the bacteria.
The immune system also plays a significant and central role in inflammatory diseases that are not caused by microorganisms that called for inflammatory diseases. The skin: The outermost barrier is the skin, which is dense and waterproof and can therefore keep foreign elements out. Mucous membrane: Contains antibodies and hairs in the throat, lungs, and nose, which means that, among other things, foreign elements can be coughed out.
Stomach acid: Microbes, ingested through food or drink, are killed by stomach acid. Body fluids such as tears and saliva contain antibacterial enzymes that can reduce the risk of infection.
WHAT ARE DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS?
Dietary supplements are some products designed to give you nutrients that might be missing from your diet. They can be taken as tablets, capsules, liquids, powders etc. you may know some of the common supplements such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D, or fish oil. Dietary supplements are very popular among people globally and if your diet lacks a particular nutrient, you might need a supplement to fill that gap.
NUTRITION FOR MOOD
The nutrition you choose to take can directly impact your mental health and moods. The specific composites in nutrients and other compounds, such as polyphenols, mood can be boosted by lowering levels of inflammation in the brain and enhancing its suppleness to stress. Intake a specific supplement can play a significant role in influencing your mood. Many studies today agrees that nutrition or dietary supplements plays a role in development of the brain and bodies functionality at many levels, including structural, chemical, pharmacologic, and functional. When we speak of nutrition and health, we generally think of nutrition in relation to the prevention or even treatment of cancer or of obesity and related disorders. It is obvious that bad nutrition or wrong eating habits can cause mood swings and our mind or bodies don’t function well. Therefore, a good nutrition will improve the mood, give you more energy and help you think clearer.
DO WE NEED DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS?
Studies show that many people who do not take supplements are missing some nutrients from their daily diet or some people who find it hard to get enough nutrients they need through diet alone. You might need to take a supplement if:
- you cannot get enough nutrition from the foods
- you are doing special sports
- your body cannot absorb the nutrients from foods
- you have some chronic disease such as kidney disease

The immunodeficiency or also called underactivity of the immune system, can increase the risk of infection. Some may be born with an immunodeficiency known as primary immunodeficiency (PID) or acquire it from a medical treatment or another disease which known as secondary immunodeficiency. The primary immunodeficiencies are classified into four main groups depending on which element of the immune system is deficient: B cells, T cells, phagocytic cells, or the complement cascade. The main common indicator of immunodeficiency is frequent infections, usually beginning with recurrent respiratory infections. Other common symptoms include diarrhea, malabsorption, and failure to thrive. General management of patients with immunodeficiency requires an extraordinary of care to keep optimal health and nutrition condition, to manage infections, to prevent emotional problems related to the illness.

A clinical proof or evidence is a collection of summaries of the best evidence and procedures regarding what works or doesn’t work in the health care segment. It is planned and designed to be a very useful tool in daily practice and to get some answers about the clinical questions. Clinical research is a subdivision of health care science which determines the effectivity and safety of strategies, plans, medications, devices, and diagnostic products for human use. These terms or tools may be used for prevention, treatment or relieving of a disease where clinical research is quite different from clinical practice. In clinical research the evidence will be collected to find a treatment where in clinical practice established treatments are used.
